Roosevelt established the Civilian Conservation Corps to reduce unemployment among young men, and at the same time to perform conservation work. Pennsylvania had well over a hundred camps, many in this area. Through the use of historic photographs and other memorabilia, we will take a “Virtual Tour” of the five camps near the park – Alan Seeger, Owl’s Gap (Whipple Dam), Martin’s Gap, Diamond Valley, and Penn-Roosevelt.This year marks the 80th anniversary of the CCC. If you have historic photos or other memorabilia, we would like to copy them, or we can accept them as a donation to the park’s growing collection of CCC related items. Items from our collection will be on display in the Visitor Center this summer.
